The Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD), has set October 2020, the effective date to remove 21,227 parastatal pensioners who are on the Directorate’s payroll.

The affected pensioners are those that did not turn up for the Directorate’s 2019 PaPD Nationwide and In-House verification exercises. Besides, they neither submitted documentary request for mobile verification nor registered as diaspora pensioners.

The pensioners affected are listed according to the parastatal, Education, 1314; Health, 2982; OPSRI, 5447; PHCN, 2220; POWER,5180; and University, 4084

.Documented diaspora pensioners and pensioners who requested for mobile verification, but are not yet verified, have also been added to the documented pensioners pending when it would be convenient for them to be verified.

The list of the affected pensioners which is on the PTAD website, had been given to the pension unions/associations/agencies and institutes since July 2020 for dissemination and sensitisation of their members and to give a feedback to the Directorate.

However, in view of the Covid-19 lockdown, PTAD has released some guidelines for bonafide pensioners amongst the identified 21,227 pensioners with authentic documents should follow to ensure that their names are not removed from the payroll.

Pensioners who are resident overseas (diaspora pensioners), have been asked to scan all their career records, bank statement, BVN slip with picture, mobile number, email address, resident permit, data page of international passport showing picture and personal details, certificate of aliveness from the nearest Nigeria Embassy and send to the email address: papdcomplaints@ptad.gov.ng

PTAD also request pensioners who are neither sick nor resident abroad but missed the verification exercises of 2019, to scan all their career records, bank statement, BVN slip with picture, mobile number, email address, national ID card or national driver’s license, and send to: papdcomplaints@ptad.gov.ng to be scheduled for verification.

However, PTAD said that if a pensioner had been previously verified by the Directorate but still could not find find their name on the list, the pensioner concerned should scan their verification slip and send to: papdcomplaints@ptad.gov.ng

PTAD has directed pensioners confirm their status, input their account number and the name of the agency they retired from; “if the pensioners details do not open up, it means that the pensioners’ name is not on the list of those who are to be removed from the payroll.
