Conforming with the limitations set by the Covid-10 pandemic on social interactions, the National Pension Commission, has shelved the physical verification/enrolment exercise of employees of treasury funded ministries, department and agencies MDAs, that are due to retire from service between January and December 2021.
On the strength of this, the Commission is putting an automated process in place that would allow seamless conduct of the annual verification/enrolment exercise. PenCom says the new process has two options for the prospective retirees, namely self-assisted or the Pension Fund Administration (PFA) assisted option.
According to the statement, the self-assisted option entails a prospective retiree scanning original copies of all relevant documents required for the exercise and uploading these documents to the enrolment web portal located on the Commission’s website (www.pencom.gov.ng). In addition, the retiree is required to to visit his/her PFA for the verification and validation of the submitted documents.
For those who opt for the PFA assisted option, the retiree will initiate and conclude the verification/enrolment process by visiting own PFA to verify and validate all relevant original documents to enable the PFA upload these documents to the Commission’s enrolment portal on behalf of the prospective retiree.
Promising prospective retirees and the public its commitment to excellent service delivery, PenCom stated the exercise is scheduled to commence within the first quarter in 2021.
